Terms & Conditions
We understand that circumstances sometimes change and that cancellations or rescheduling are required. We aim to be as accommodating as possible, but please understand that once your order has been placed, preparation occurs and a commitment has been made to have your cake ready by your chosen date. This includes not accepting any other orders for your cake slot. If unforeseen circumstances occur, please contact us immediately and we will try to accommodate to your event’s new date.
It is the customer’s responsibility to read through Terms and Conditions before placing an order. By placing an order and paying the deposit, the below policies are agreed upon.
Allergens
Cakes by Claire.mc takes multiple precautions to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs. However, this cannot be 100% ensured. Unless specified, products may contain or come in contact with dairy, gluten, nuts and other allergens.
We currently cater GF cakes (additional costs apply, subject to availability). Please enquire for more information.
Cakes by Claire.mc can not be held responsible for any allergy related issues.
Payments
50% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking.
Remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before pickup/delivery.
Orders accepted less than 7 days before the required date are subject to a 10% late order fee.
Payments are completed via bank transfer or credit card (2.2% card surcharge applies).
Cancellations
5 days notice required for a full refund (excluding deposit).
Refund and Satisfaction Claims
We always want you to be 100% happy with your order, however in the unfortunate event that this is not the case, please advise us within 24hrs. The original cake must be returned in person to prove as evidence for any claims made against it (photo evidence alone will not suffice). The ability to issue a refund may depend on the amount of cake returned and will be assessed at the discretion of the business. For example, if a large portion of the cake has been consumed, a full refund may not be possible.
Because our cakes are bespoke, complaints regarding creative interpretation of edible items are non-returnable and exchanges or refunds cannot be authorised.
It is the customer’s responsibility to check that all details of the cake are correct before leaving the premises at pickup, or at time of delivery. We will happily correct any discrepancy between the order confirmation and final cake in writing or design elements promptly. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your cake, please let us know at the point of collection or delivery, that way we can do our very best to rectify the cake; please note that there may be an additional charge.
Pickups
Once a pickup time has been confirmed, your order will be placed out for collection 5 minutes prior to the agreed time. It is your responsibility to collect the order at the scheduled time. We are unable to retrieve the order or wait for an alternate collection time, as we may be out on pre-arranged deliveries.
If you need to reschedule or if an unforeseen circumstance arises, please contact us immediately by phone, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Upon pickup, the client must inspect the order to ensure it meets their expectations. Any concerns must be raised immediately upon pickup, as we cannot be held liable for any issues reported after this time.
Deliveries
Delivery is charged at a rate of $6 + $1.10 per km away from 1 Bennett Street, Curl Curl NSW 2096.
For events requiring specific set-up arrangements on-site, an additional set-up fee may apply. This fee covers the time and resources required to ensure that your cake is presented as intended. The fee will be quoted based on the complexity of the set-up and the time required.
Deliveries will be made at a mutually agreed-upon time. Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address to receive the order during the specified timeframe. We are not responsible for delays caused by the customer being unavailable to receive the delivery.
Upon delivery, the customer must inspect the order to ensure it meets their expectations. Any concerns must be raised immediately upon delivery, as we cannot be held liable for any issues reported after this time.
Once the order has been delivered and accepted, responsibility for the cake, including its care and storage, passes to the customer. We cannot be held liable for any damage that occurs after the cake has been delivered.
In the event that no one is available to accept the delivery at the agreed time, the cake will be either returned to our premises or left at the delivery address. Any additional delivery attempts or arrangements will incur further charges.
While we strive to deliver on time, we are not liable for delivery delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic, weather conditions, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, we will inform you as soon as possible and reschedule the delivery.
